Scarf, handbag or call this thing a purse, but you can wear it and of course hide anything — from a couple of phones to money and credit cards, this thing is a must-have for any and every woman.

Women Hiding phone in scarf Cellphone

A Scarf Can Stop you from Losing your cellphone

Lugging a purse around and putting the phone in our pocket didn’t seem like an ideal solution — we deal with it everyday. After losing a phone, Angela Lee realized she needed something new for ladies that can protect their phones, and thus Sholdit was born.

Here are a couple of variants of this amazing scarf:

colorful scarf for hiding accessories

Colorful scarf; Fabric: 100% Polyster

Grey scarf from Sholdit website

Grey scarf; Fabric: 100% Viscose

Hiding iPhone using black scarf

Purple scarf; Fabric: 60.6% Acrylic, 34.8 cotton, 3.6 polyester, 1% lycra

From the words of Angela Lee, the person behind Sholdit:

Being a fast paced woman, always on the go, I grew tired of carrying a traditional bag. I soon realized I wasn’t the only one. I kept hearing about the same frustrations from others of lugging a heavy purse, the strap cutting into the shoulder causing neck and back strain, having to dig around forever trying to find something, the constant worry of leaving it behind or fear of it hanging on a chair back for someone to swipe or dig in while not paying attention. Also, every woman will cringe at the thought of setting it on the floor only to get dirty, wet, or sticky and whatever else stuck to it.

The idea for a new style of purse struck me after two particularly frustrating events: almost losing my passport in the airport and then actually losing my cell phone at a sporting event because I didn’t want to carry a bag all day. I thought, “There has got to be a better, more fashionable way!” Then I thought, “I love the look and feel of a scarf, the security of across the body bags, and the simplicity of a clutch.

Why not incorporate everything to create an entirely new and different style of purse!” It solves so many problems and frustrations including: making one limited to carrying only the necessities, giving hands free movement with out the strain, keeping valuables secure, and it’s a fashion piece! It may also be draped around the neck just like a traditional scarf and has the added value of converting back into a clutch when desired.

Each scarf is available for $79, and while you can keep as many things as you want (or even use spy equipments or mobile spying apps) you may want to make sure your shoulders are strong enough to take the weight.

I lost my mobile phone last week. It was an iPhone, unlocked and in a pretty good condition. My smartphone also had a $99 case on the back and a cheap screen protector in the front. You could say that I cared more about my iPhone 4S than anything else because, honestly, it had everything I wanted — from cute little apps to amazing games and access to the Internet on-the-go.

I was on my way home from college, and that was when I realized I was missing something. You know that feeling when you are walking realising that you are missing something or you have left some precious thing behind. You feel light, and I felt that way. The better feeling vanished away when I reached home and found out that I misplaced my iPhone.

“Did someone take it? I think it was on the desk. God, I hope it’s not stolen.”

I went back to my college and, as expected, I couldn’t find my iPhone. I didn’t activate iCloud on my iPhone, so it was obvious that my precious smartphone is gone (lost in the wind) and I can’t track it anymore. Whoever took it, screw you!

There are billions of people in the world, and most of them have cell phones. While I am not a statistic guru, but in my college everyone has a cell phone — from basic Nokia handsets to crazy iPhones. But that day, one guy didn’t bring a cell phone to college — yes, that’s me. I regretted losing my iPhone, and I regret to not remember where I had kept it.

Next day, when I finally sat down for the class, I decided I want a new phone. I thought I’ll probably go with the new iPhone 5, or maybe I will check out the new Samsung S3 — I have never operated an Android smartphone before, so I was looking forward to all this. But then I said to myself: “do some research, take your time and get a good phone.”

During this research period, I had a day without a phone. And here I will share how that day was, the benefits and the disadvantages of not having a cell phone — I share them all from my point of view.

Spending Time Without a Mobile

The day seemed longer. I had much more time to do things.

As I was on my way to college, pants felt lighter. Freedom has made its way into my world. I was feeling good without the iPhone.

Also, my pockets were much more organized. I had my car keys in my left pocket and wallet in the right. I didn’t have to worry about putting my iPhone with the car keys (this can scratch the surface of my iPhone) anymore.

As I was walking down the streets, I took a couple of quick steps while slightly jumping in between (no one was around at that time). Why? Because I didn’t have to worry about dropping my iPhone. I could run, freely.

As I had nothing “expensive” in my pocket, I could hug strangers (I wish I did that). My wallet, if I remember correctly, had no more than $50 bucks.

There were some issues though. With no phone, I had a lot of time in my hands, but the problem was: how can I use this time? I had very little to do.

My mom and brother in my family usually calls me up sometime in the evening. Now, I don’t have a phone anymore. I never told them that I lost my phone — they would go crazy hearing this! But it is clear that phones are important: they keep us together.

Even friends missed me. They text message me everyday, and today was a different day. I cannot track them down. Are they partying? What are they doing? Oh, I want to access Facebook on my phone — nope, that was not possible.

I missed the Internet. I am a type of guy who accesses Internet on the phone; be it Facebook, Google News, or Twitter, I check them regularly to know what my friends are doing. Today, everyone had an account at Facebook and I didn’t know what they were doing.

Lastly, I use Google Maps frequently and with no phone, I asked God to load my brain with Google Maps. And, I guess, this is what God told me, “you better get a new phone, son.”

Mobile insurance plan from AT&T can do two things:

  • Track your lost phone (if you go with the second plan)
  • Replace your lost phone with a new one.

Once you have purchased AT&T’s insurance plan for your new iPhone — works even on iPhone 4S/4 and iPhone 5 — then you don’t have to worry about your smartphone anymore. You may lose your iPhone in college, let someone steal it, drop your phone or let the water (or any liquid) flow into the pipes of iPhone, AT&T will cover the expenses. The carrier will replace existing iPhone with a new one, even if the warranty period of the phone expires.

You get a replacement phone the next day but you have to pay some fee to get into this plan. And how many times can you claim a new Apple iPhone? Only two times in 12 months, assuming the phone cost is under $1500 (iPhones are definitely not that costly, so we are good).

Second plan to insurance iPhone from AT&T: AT&T also has a Mobile Protection Pack that combines two existing feature. One is the mobile insurance plan (the above one) and the other is the enhanced support plan where you will get help and suggestions regarding your device.

You will also get a new Mobile Locate app as part of this plan. This free app, exclusively available only for AT&T customers, can do the following:

  • Track missing iPhone in real-time.
  • Find where your iPhone was in the last five locations with turn-by-turn navigation support.
  • Send an alarm to your lost iPhone. This works even if the iPhone is in silent or vibrate mode. The alarm will run for three minutes continuously.
  • Ability to lock the iPhone and also wipe the whole data (including documents, games and apps) in one-click. Customers can also unlock their phone.

What you will get

  • The goal is to fulfill your claim with the same make or model of like, kind and quality. However, depending on availability, you may instead receive a device of the same or different model.
  • Device color, brand, model and features may be different and accessory compatibility is not guaranteed.

Also covered if reported as part of covered loss:

  • Standard Battery
  • Standard Battery Charger
  • SIM card

May include one of the following at your option (if part of the covered loss): one accessory (phone claims only; subscriber may select a carrying case, automobile cigarette lighter adapter or standard wired earpiece [not wireless or other specialty earpieces such as Bluetooth®])

Cell Phones Not Covered Under At&T Mobile Insurance:

  • Apple® iPadTM (all models)
  • Phones on GoPhone® accounts
  • Tablets with prepaid data plans, BlackBerry® PlayBookTM
  • AT&T 3G MicroCellTM
  • Device models not sold by AT&T (e.g., Dell StreakTM, Google Nexus OneTM, TerreStar GENUSTM)
  • Docks (such as for the MOTOROLA® ATRIXTM 4G)

Signup iPhone for AT&T Mobile Insurance

Signing up for this mobile insurance plan requires you to be a customer of AT&T. In other words, if you have an iPhone under AT&T contract, you can avail this offer. However, you must sign up within 30 days of device activation. If you do not sign up within the first month, you won’t be able to buy and activate the insurance plan on your iPhone. Along with a fixed fee (non-refundable deductible) you also have to pay a monthly premium fee of $6.99 per mobile number enrolled.

Deductible will vary according to the device type. There are three tiers outlined below:

  • Device Tier 1 devices will be charged a $50 non-refundable deductible.
  • Device Tier 2 devices will be charged a $125 non-refundable deductible.
  • Device Tier 3 devices will be charged a $199 non-refundable deductible.

From the AT&T Press Release:

Customers must enroll in AT&T Mobile Protection Pack within 30 days of activation date or device upgrade date. Existing Mobile Insurance customers can upgrade to the Mobile Protection Pack at any time. Both Mobile Insurance and Enhanced Support are available as standalone products, however Mobile Locate is only available as part of the Mobile Protection Pack. If the customer is enrolled in Mobile Protection Pack and decides to drop Mobile Insurance, both Enhanced Support and Mobile Locate will also be dropped. However, the customer can still purchase Enhanced Support separately for $9.00 per month per enrolled number. Mobile Locate is available on select phones. All features may not work on all devices. Visit att.com/mobileprotectionpack for more information.

Mobile Insurance: A nonrefundable deductible of either $50 or $125 applies, depending upon the device model for each approved claim. Claims may be fulfilled with a new or remanufactured device. Customers are allowed 2 claims within any consecutive 12 months with a maximum device value of $1,500 per occurrence. Customers can cancel the optional coverage at any time and receive a prorated refund of unearned premium.

Mobile Insurance is insurance underwritten by Continental Casualty Company, a CNA company (CNA), and administered by Asurion Protection Services, LLC (in California, Asurion Protection Services Insurance Agency, LLC, CA Lic. #OD63161. In Puerto Rico, Asurion Protection Services of Puerto Rico, Inc.) a licensed agent of CNA. To keep things simple, the $6.99 monthly premium and
a non-refundable deductible, applicable to each approved claim, are added to your AT&T billing statement.

Receiving phone calls from an unknown number is nothing new. According to a recent survey, 1 out of 12 people regularly receive spoof calls on their phone numbers. So why do people make spoof calls? More importantly, what exactly is spoof calling?

In simple terms, spoof calling is prank calling. You call up someone you know (or maybe not) and talk rubbish or something silly, in your own or made-up accent. Here is a video from an American teenager making prank calls at an Asian restaurant:

Note: This video contains slang.

Spoof callers can be easily traced through their phone numbers. However, there are services that can hide your caller ID and phone numbers. If you are seriously looking for a way to prevent your caller ID to get flashed in the receiver’s display screen, you may want to check Spoofcard, a service we highly recommend for hiding caller IDs.

When you opt for such services you get the freedom to make the Caller ID of receiver’s phone to display exactly the number and name you want. The best part of this is that whenever the receiver calls you back, his/her calls will not be attended. Now, back to our previous question: why do we need to spoof call someone?

  • What if you belong to a really big company? Sending message updates and notifications through separate numbers may look unprofessional. But if your company is big and branches are many, you may want to hide the caller ID. When you have spoof calling facility, all the messages sent through your concern will bear one common number which will get unidentified by the receivers instantly.
  • If you maintain a toll-free number and wish that all messages sent by your business entity to your consumers bear that number only, the only option that remains open for you go for Spoof Phone Calling.
  • You will need this service immensely if you belong to a call center too. As soon as you call your clients on behalf of the company, only one known number will get flashed in their LCD screen. Thus, it expels every sort of confusion.
  • If you are using a calling card service like that of Skype to make frequent calls, this service is a must for you. It prevents the display of a ‘By Default’ number of your location in the call receiver’s screen. Since this default number is universal for all those present in your geographic location, your receiver will never be able to understand who is calling! In the most unfortunate situations he can even hang up the call! Instead, you can assign a customized number in this service so that the receiver is able to assume who is there on the other side of the phone call.

Two people talking over the phone is common, but what if another person can record or listen to their conversation. This is completely true: the other person can track calls and log them in real-time, that too from any place.

Here is a video from Fox News explaining how phone calls between East L.A. and West L.A. were recorded by some stranger from another twon. The other person is eavesdropping on the conversation, and he has the freedom to monitor anything — from SMS and text messages to address list and phone calls.

As noted in the video below, spying invisibly is not a new thing. Today, with the advancement of technology, it is possible to track mobile data, spy on any cellphones and use tracking apps to find out the victim’s exact location.

The Federal Forensic Group shows us how easy and powerful these spying softwares have become over the years. After the spying software is installed on the victim’s mobile phone, he/she can be traced, their emails on the phones can be read, calls made can be recorded and SMS sent and received can be opened on the computer.

Even if you are not picking up any calls or you are not using your phone to make calls, these spy softwares can still record and transmit the conversation to the other person. This is done through the mic that is usually built-in within a phone.

Third-party spying applications have grown in numbers. Today, people can secretly spy spouses through tracking softwares which, although may not legal in some cases, can make or break relationships. As said in the video, spying apps are like our personal surveillance team.

“I want to know what my spouse is doing when she is out and not with me.” Finding out if your spouse is loyal and faithful to you or not is possible by spying the data available on their cell phones.

According to a recent news from Sunday Mail, people can track behavior of their friends, families and spouses using mobile tracking apps for less than a dollar a day. You don’t have to grab their phones to know what’s happening in their life. Simply install spying tools and apps and remotely get all the information.

Through such apps, it is possible to monitor phone calls, check contacts and address book, read SMS and text messages, look into the photos and track every movement of your partner at any time of the night or day.

Mobile tracking apps are usually visible on the homescreen of the smartphone. This means the owner can know about any new application installed on their phone by swiping through the homescreen on their Android and iPhones. However, this new software installed on your partner’s phone will not be visible. There is a feature in the app that makes monitoring phone really easy in the background.

Simply launch the application, activate the “stealth” mode and the app will run in the background, secretly tracking messages and phone calls. This way monitoring phone calls, and every behaviour of your spouse is possible without her knowing about this.

Dozens of sites are selling this spying software to the public, some charging a dollar everyday while others have a monthly or yearly subscription service where the buyer has to pay a fixed fee every month.

But the app is openly promoting “spying” against spouses and friends. The federal police also believes that such apps are a clear breach of regulations and privacy is openly distributed, and for this reason the police wants to shut this app down. Even security experts have requested government to stop such apps and services from going public, as this results in a tide of privacy breaches.

On the other hand, it is believed that such monitoring tools can be useful for parents to track the behavior of their kids who take cell phones with them to colleges and schools. Such products can also save you from many problems and help you understand if your partner is cheating on you or not.

It’s true that spying softwares can always be used legally and illegally, and it is entirely up to you to decide what you want to do with it. But you should always ask this to yourself: is spying cell phone of my spouse the right thing to do?
