Airtel India is offering a free service where you have to enter the first four digit of any phone number to receive the location details. The numbers should be sent as a text message to 51619. This service works only in certain cities.
Rest of the people who have tried this “free” location tracking service from other cities may receive an SMS saying “No such keyword found.” Here are the steps to follow:
- From your mobile phone, go to the message folder to write a message.
- Enter 51619 in the field where you usually enter someone’s phone number.
- In the text field, enter “NO” followed by the first four digit of Airtel phone number. For example, if a phone number is 9611213154, then the first four digit should be “9611.” The entire message should be this way: “NO 9611.”
Send this message and wait for the response. If you are lucky, you will receive a detailed message with the phone’s location circle and area. While the location will not be accurate every time, it will at least give you an idea of where the phone is located. This is useful for finding friend’s location or to track someone who is not answering your calls.
There is no need to download any software or use any location finder app on your Airtel phone to activate this free feature.
